FMX rider Ailo Gaup is the dark horse of the Dew Tour. Known in Europe as the Ice Man because of his stoic Scandinavian way of dominating competitions, Gaup is a three-time World FMX Champion.
Recognizing that nobody can really claim to be the best until they win here in the US, Gaup decided to take a step across the pond for his first taste of a major American competition at the Dew Tour.
Even with 2003 and 2004 IFMXF World Cup titles to his credit, Gaup was still a relatively unknown open qualifier when he entered the Panasonic Open. Since then, Gaup has been a name on everyone's mind.
While he is known for his daring and complicated tricks such as the barrel roll, under flip, and flare, it is his consistency that is most impressive. Not bad for a guy who earned money for his first bike by painting houses and selling both fish and his toys when he was only 10 years old.
Already a movie star and major celebrity athlete in Scandinavia, his plans for America include bringing the sport back to what sparked its popularity in the first place. So far, he is hitting the nail on the head. Featured in every industry magazine in the world, as well as Maxim, Stuff, FHM and more, Gaup is and will continue to be one of the names to know in FMX on the Tour.
