Alex Gavin has been competing since 1989, when he was just thirteen years old. He entered his first World Cup in 1998 and has been making a name for himself in street contests ever since. This competition experience has certainly paid off for this Canadian as he took second at the Slam City Jam, one of the skate world's most prestigious events.

Gavin also mentions that one of his most notable accomplishments was "rescuing a trapped puppy from a 2nd floor burning building." Alex thinks that traveling is the best part about the lifestyle of a pro skateboarder and his future goal is "winning this f*%#in' contest!"
