With ski instructors for parents, it’s no wonder Alexis Godbout could ski before he could walk. He put on his first pair of skis at 18 months old and from the time he stepped into his first twin tips he knew skiing was his career path.
Trademark stylish grabs and technical rail skills rewarded the Quebecois freeskier with Best Rookie and Best Skier Performance at the 2006 Vast Awards. Then he racked up top-three performances at the Aspen Open for three years running. His showings at the inaugural Winter Dew Tour – ninth at Breckenridge, third at Mount Snow, and second at NorthStar – put him in second overall in the standings.
In 2009 he finished fourth at the European Open and made his X Games debut, where he placed 13th at both the Aspen and European events.
