Each of the five skaters that advanced to the Final Jam of the Dew Tour Championships' skate vert finals landed a 720 to get there, setting the stage for a fierce final round of competition. Bling Vs. Flair in Skate Vert Finals
Heading into Vegas there really wasn’t much question about who was going to win the 2010 Dew Cup in skateboard vert. After taking the top spot in Boston and then getting second in both Portland and SLC, all Pierre Luc Gagnon had to do to claim the Cup was finish in the top four, which he did, like taking candy from a baby. So congrats to PLG who, after winning it in ‘08 before losing it to Bucky last year, managed to snatch it back in 2010. more

Andy Macdonald
In 2009 Tony Hawk was all over TV for becoming the first ever human to ride a skateboard through the halls of the White House. There was only one problem with the story. Andy Macdonald had already done it.
Andy Mac, as he is commonly called, is more of an athlete than your average pro skateboarder. He doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink, and only gets high on his airs. He does however have a serious candy addiction. Nerds, Red Vines, Lemonheads, you name it.
Growing up in Boston, Massachusetts Andy honed his vert skills in the winters on what were essentially big indoor mini ramps. And although these days he excels on the halfpipe, he’s no slouch on street, mini, pools, or what have you. By the time he’d finished high school he’d had it with the east coast, so he packed up and moved to San Diego to skate full time. Well, almost full time. To make ends meet Andy worked at Sea World and entertained the kiddies by dressing up in a giant Shamu costume.
Andy is the most decorated skateboarder in the history of the X Games, including multiple golds with doubles partner Tony Hawk. Additionally he was the reigning World Cup champion for eight consecutive years. And after finishing in the top 10 at every stop of the Dew Tour since 2005, he finally took home his first win in 2008 at the Toyota Challenge. He finished second overall that year and repeated the performance in 2009.
For more you should order a copy of his autobiography, “Dropping in With Andy Mac.” Although it should be mentioned that Tony Hawk beat him to the punch on that one.

Hendley Wins Street, PLG Takes Vert and Mini-Mega at Asian X
Saturday held a full day of skate contests at Asian X Games in Shanghai, China as both the street and mini mega finals took place after Friday’s rain postponed the events. Tyler Hendley landed a pretty stellar run to claim his first X Games gold in street.

Race for the Cup: Skate Vert Gallery
