Bastien Salabanzi is unlike any skater in the world. Showing promise from a very young age, Bastien was winning contests in his native France at 11 years old. Quickly becoming a rising star among the industries youngest skater, Bastien competed in the X Games at just 19. the 2004 X Games were good to Salabanzi, as he finished with a Bronze medal in 'Skateboarding: Street.'
After a somewhat mysterious turn of events, Bastien left the Flip Skateboards team and returned to Europe. Although never becoming an overwhelming symbol of the sport in either competition or media, Bastien continued to skate incredibly well.
If anyone used Bastien's return to Europe as an excuse to write him off, they were dead wrong…Salabanzi continued to compete…and win. After hosting the 'Bastien Salabanzi Invitational', presented by Rusty, in 2009, the young skater went on to win the Adidas SkateClash in Berlin, Germany.
2010 saw Bastien as a last minute placement in the 'Maloof Money Cup' Pro competition. With a week's notice, Salabanzi showed up and blew the crowd away, capturing an impressive fourth place finish alongside the world's best skaters.
Continuing on a wave of exciting skating, Bastien rode his way into a seventh place overall finish for the 2010 Dew Tour.
