Blake Wharton just got his Pro career started in the summer of 2008 after the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Nationals. He was already signed to the Geico Powersports Honda team and his first race was Millville. Wharton stunned everyone by running up front and finishing 5th overall in his first try. He followed that up with a 10th and a 6th at the next two rounds of the series.
In his first year running Supercross, 2009, Wharton captured a victory at the 250SX East race in St. Louis. He went on to finish 4th in points that year, then would finish 5th overall three years in a row in 250SX from 2010-2012.
Wharton has also been fairly consistent outdoors as well, finishing inside the top 8 in each of his first three full seasons (2009, 2010, 2012.) He missed the entire 2011 season due to injury. A Texas native, Wharton has turned in some strong rides in past years at Freestone Raceway.
