Hailing from Australia, Brandon made his mark on the BMX scene by winning the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s BMX park finals in 2011. He put the sport on notice after unleashing a strong bag of tricks in his run, including a triple tailwhip. He went on to make a bit of history in his Dew Tour debut in Las Vegas later in the summer, becoming the first rider to land a cash roll in a Dew Tour park contest.
Brandon first started riding BMX in Australia at age 10 after being turned onto the sport by his cousin, a motocross racer who rode BMX in his spare time. Two years later, Brandon would start entering a few local contests for fun. From there, he placed 2nd in vert at Australia’s BMX Games in 2007 and continued his progression.
By his own account, it wasn’t until 2009 that Brandon started taking his riding seriously. And it's a good thing he did. After winning a mini-ramp contest at the Monster Skatepark Birthday Bash in 2010, Brandon reeled off several wins in regional contests in Australia. It all set the stage for his 2011 breakout season, in which Brandon travelled to the U.S. with a contingent of Aussies to train at Woodward and compete on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour.
