Jumping on a bike for the first time when he was 11, Daniel Dhers spent only one summer in the U.S. before competing on the Dew Tour in 2006.

Dhers’ smooth style and ability to consistently land the big tricks with ease made an immediate impact, and Dhers won the second stop of the ‘06 Tour and went on to take third in the BMX park competition at the X Games. After narrowly winning the 2006 Dew Cup, Dhers went on to dominate BMX park competition. He won two more year-end Dew Tour titles as well as a pair of X Games golds and the 2008 NORA Cup for Ramp Rider of the Year.

Dhers’ monopoly on the top of the podium was evident from day one on the 2008 Dew Tour. After debuting an opposite downside whip flair at the first stop of the ’08 Tour, Dhers seemed unbeatable. He won the first four stops of the Dew Tour with relative ease and his bid for finishing the winningest season in Dew Tour history was snubbed by Ryan Nyquist at the PlayStation Pro. Dhers finished the year with his third consecutive Dew Cup and shared Athlete of the Year honors with Jamie Bestwick.

After a rough start to ’09 – including an uncharacteristic sixth at the X Games – Dhers picked up top-three finishes at the final three stops of the Dew Tour and finished in third overall, returning to the form that has made him a top contender.
