Grand Prix Crowns The USA Olympic Snowboard Team

Three resorts, five qualifying events and 10 Grand Prix finals later, the US Olympic halfpipe team has finally been selected. It was a long road, but at this point – when all roads lead to Vancouver – the trip was definitely worth it for the eight left standing.

After moving to Lake Tahoe from Hawaii, Elena showed serious promise on a snowboard at just seven years old. It wasn't long before Elena's riding was gaining the attention of the snowboard world.

Landing her first frontside 900 at just 13, Elena took 3rd at the Breckenridge Grand Prix in 2003. Continually laying down awesome tricks with consistent style, Elena was named Rookie of the Year by Transworld Snowboarding in 2006 before going on to placing 1st at the 2010 Snowbasin Dew Tour.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Elena will return to the 2011/12 Winter Dew Tour in hopes of capturing her first Dew Cup.

Janne Korpi And Elena Hight Lead The Way In Superpipe Prelims

Back to back Superpipe Prelims kicked off the second day of Dew Tour action here in Breckenridge. The ladies started things off in Superpipe, and Elena Hight took first in a landslide victory. After the ladies cleared the pipe the men flipped, spun and slammed for a spot in Saturday’s Final. An hour of competition later Janne Korpi took the top spot, but Mason Aguirre was close on his heels.
