The 2007 season was Jake Weimer’s coming-out season. Aboard his SoBe/No Fear Honda CRF250R, Weimer rode to a strong fourth place year-end finish in the AMA Supercross Lites West Region Series. He piloted his machine to another solid finish in the final AMA Motocross Lites Championship standings, earning sixth place against some very fast and talented competition.
Weimer’s 2008 season didn’t start out so well when he failed to make the main event at round one of the 250 West at Anaheim Stadium, but he stepped up to win round two in Phoenix. He was inconsistent throughout the year, though, and could only manage 15th in the points standings before heading outdoors, where he scored a podium finish at the Mt. Morris National.
Weimer continued on, helping Team USA win the 2009 Motocross of Nations in Brescia, Italy. He then went on to earn three wins (Anaheim I, San Francisco, Anaheim III) and six-podium finishes en-route to a runner-up finish in the AMA Supercross Lites West Region Standings. Weimer scored three overall victories during the AMA Motocross season in the 250 Class, winning at Thunder Valley, Red Bud and Budds Creek.
The 2010 Supercross campaign kicked off with three consectuive wins for Weimer in the 250SX West Region, and he would go on to take the championship.
An immediate top-ten contender, Weimer made the jump to the big bikes in 2011. He missed most off the Supercross season with an injury, but came back strong for the outdoor Nationals, finsihing 6th in points.
Weimer continued to make strides in 2012, finishing 5th in 450SX points and putting himself on the Supercross podium five times. With many big names out of action for the 2012 Motocross season, Weimer emerged as one of the leading riders aside from Ryan Dungey and Mike Alessi. Posting top-three finishes in 10 of 24 motos, Weimer held a narrow point margin over Andrew Short and Broc Tickle to finish third overall in the 450 Class.
