Jean Postec is a native of France. His passion for skating started when he was nine years old and saw Bart Simpson riding a skateboard on The Simpons.
By the age of ten, Postec had his first board, and two years later he was riding the vert ramp. At 14, he started traveling to Montreal for the summers to practice with fellow vert skaters PLG and Max Dufour. In 2006, he was making a name for himself when he placed fifth in the Dew Cup standings. The next year, he landed in seventh place.
