Jordan Hoffart was 14 years old when he landed his first TV gig, a commercial for Pop Tarts. In all, it only entailed two days of work, but then the royalties started rolling in. Checks, ranging from four to nine thousand dollars began arriving every six weeks and continued to do so for the next year. Ka-ching!
Jordan grew up in Vancouver, Canada, which is pretty much the Hollywood of the Northwest, and as he got more work in the movie biz he took his acting and stunt work to new heights, as can be witnessed in movies like “Most Vertical Primate” and “Zolar” [He never claimed to be Tom Cruise].
But skateboarding was always his main focus. So at 19, figuring there were sunnier skies to roll under in California, he relocated to San Diego’s North County. Joined the club, if you will.
In 2009 Jordan turned pro, had a breakout part in the Powell video, “Fun,” and did his first Dew Tour. Whether on film or in the flesh, Jordan’s skating is something like that of a wild animal being attacked by an even wilder animal. Without question he will do whatever it takes to get his trick. And when he gets it, it’s solid gold.
On or off his board, Jordan is always psyched (unless he’s been bailing a trick for three hours), and he really might be the nicest dude ever. It could be a Canadian thing, or maybe he’s a better actor than his movie resume implies. We jest.
