Growing up in Truckee, Calif., Kimmy Fasani started skiing when she was just two years old. Even after receiving a snowboard as a gift five years later, Fasani would only ride with friends following her ski races.
It wasn’t until she turned 12 that Fasani decided to make the switch to snowboarding permanently, faring well on the USASA circuit thanks to her fearless approach to the sport. After joining the Northstar snowboard team and qualifying for USASA Nationals at the age of 16, Fasani won the slopestyle contest in her age division three straight years.
The success pushed her to finish high school a year early, and from there, Fasani moved to Mammoth Lakes to attend college and snowboard at the same time. Top 10 finishes in the Abominable Snow Jam and Burton Australian Open (in both slope AND pipe) garnered Fasani a nod as one of Transworld Snowboarding’s 2008 Rookie of the Year nominees.
Also with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing to her credit, Fasani played a major role in Stan Evans and Jeremy Miller’s film STANCE – a snowboarding flick with an all-female cast – that debuted in August 2009.
