After breaking his back in December of 2007 – performing what he considered a “simple” backflip at Southsea Skatepark in England – Mark Webb returned to the contest scene a full month ahead of schedule, winning the International X Games in 2008.
In his first year with the Dew Tour, Webb made jaws drop with his technical moves and creative style. In Salt Lake City, he casually executed a 360-tailwhip-to-footjam-nosepick in practice, showing why his skills on the park course are nearly unmatched. Going into the season with the goal of simply qualifying for the entire five-stop circuit, Webb’s talent shone through and after a third-place performance at the final stop of the year he finished the 2009 Dew Tour in fourth place overall.
