There’s not much say about snowboarder insta-legend Torah Bright that hasn’t already been proclaimed: she’s one of the world’s finest half/superpipe riders, she’s the face of everything Roxy, and she’s really, really pleasant in person. Telling of her legion of fans, page, one anonymous fan gushed on her lengthy Wikipedia entry: “she’s the best boarder ever to be created”. A bold statement to be certain; the comment would smack of old-fashioned hype if this Aussie hadn’t collected the accolades that she has. She slayed Superpipe competition at the World Championship, the US Open, the Nippon Open, in addition to ultimately conquering all at the Burton Global Series. Oh, and she won gold in the Olympic halfpipe for her native Australia. When she’s not pushing the world of female shredding, she’s blogging about her recent travels or splitting riding time between skateboards and horses.
Torah first put on skis when she was two years old following the lead of her three older siblings. She spent nine years honing her skills on the slopes, until a poor snow season spurred Torah to test herself in the half pipe on a snowboard. Torah never put skis on again and turned pro three years later.
Torah’s older sister Rowena competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics for downhill skiing. Torahs Brother Ben, is Torah’s coach and is also a professional snowboarder. Torah’s younger sister Abby also rides professionally.
Voted the Best Woman’s Snowboarder in the World - 2008 EXPN survey. Torah stared in Roxy’s snow team film “Labor of Love”. Featured in the Microsoft X Box Games Amped 2 and Amped 3. On the cover of numerous international snowboard magazines, ad-campaigns and billboards across the world.
