While most of the world was making a big deal about double corks in the superpipe at the beginning of the 2009-10 competition season, Ulrik Badertscher landed the first 1620 (four and a half rotations) and made history.
He dominated the slopestyle scene in his native Norway throughout 2007, and made an impression internationally when he finished in the top-10 at the Oakley Arctic Challenge in 2008. Since then, the Norwegian has proven his consistency in big events by finishing in eighth place overall on the 2009-10 Winter Dew Tour and second at the Burton US Open.
However, it is Badertscher’s penchant for constantly throwing huge spins and working on the newest list of tricks that has kept him going. Badertscher’s historic 1620 was featured in his segment of the new snowboard movie They Came From… by Factor Films.
