Wyatt Caldwell
Wyatt Caldwell has been entering competitions since 1995 at the tender age of 12, and ever since then he been keeping it “clean and smooth.” Being from Sun Valley, Idaho Wyatt grew up in a hotbed of snowboarding activity. However, as he progressed in the sport he was forced to move closer to the center of the snowboarding universe and subsequently ended up residing in Salt Lake City, Utah.While most professional athletes concentrate solely on pursuing their dreams of climbing to the top of their sport, Wyatt continued to pursue a college education by taking correspondence courses through University Nevada-Reno as well becoming the best in his sport. Wyatt pursues higher education because he sees the big picture and knows the education will never hurt his career only help him pursue bigger and better things!
Snowboarding has brought many unique opportunities Wyatt’s way. One of his highlights was performing for team USA in “The Battle” in Falun, Sweden in front of the king and queen and over 10,000 spectators. The contests Wyatt competes in are mostly invite only competitions forcing Wyatt to keep the bar high and continually progress.
2006 was a coming out-of-sorts for Wyatt as he placed a respectable 5th in X Games Slopestyle event after qualifying 2nd going into the finals. Being invited to the X Games was such an accomplishment for Wyatt being invited after winning both the slopestyle and rail jam contest at the Vans Cup.
Wyatt not only competes in numerous competitions every year, but has recently started focusing on accessing remote backcountry terrain for jumps using snowmobiles. He is also widely recognized throughout the snowboarding community for his versatile skills, stylish spins, as well being a very well rounded snowboarder by having the ability to do well in slopestyle, halfpipe, big air, and rail jams. With his recent results, it is now apparent that Wyatt has what it takes to compete with the best snowboarders in the world at any given discipline.
