The nice thing about having a Gatorade Free Flow Tour stop in the Midwest is that it’s halfway in between both coasts. That way, not only do up-and-coming ams travel from all of the middle states, but they also fly in from all over the country like they did for the BMX park contest at Columbus, OH’s Flow Skatepark.
With more than 40 competitors itching for a spot in the Finals and riders from as far away as Toronto, New Jersey and Utah at Flow on Saturday, it was Vinny Mannino who took the win. After taking second place at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour’s stop at the Incline Club last month, Mannino landed a triple whip, downside whip on the Gatorade wave, smooth backflip and frontflip truck driver to beat out the rest of the field.

This weekend, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour has a full slate of BMX park and dirt competitions. Kicking off the weekend at the Dayton, OH stop of the DK Dirt Circuit, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will hold the final dirt competition of the season on Saturday, then give way to the pros for their contest on Sunday. Compete to earn your spot in the Finals, then stick around to watch the pros that you could be riding against if you become the next champ.
For the park riders out there, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will be going to St. Louis’ Plan 9 for the first time in its six-year history, and also hitting up the Mission Valley YMCA in San Diego.
Both contests are taking place on Sunday, so there are plenty of chances for BMXers across the country to hit up the Gatorade Free Flow Tour in the next few days. Five more spots in the Finals (top three from BMX dirt and each of the winners from the park comps) are up for grabs!
