After holding both a BMX park and a BMX dirt competition to close out the weekend, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour found the next four riders who will be competing at the Finals.
With a park that’s nicely divided between tranny and street obstacles, 4 Seasons in Milwaukee hosted a BMX park contest on Sunday that went right down to the wire. But in the end it was Jacob Hinke with a backflip, tailwhip, and a no-footed can-can that took home first place and a trip to the Finals. Dylan McCanley was second and Corey Ellis finished third.
Also on Sunday, at Windell’s Camp up in the hills of Mount Hood, OR, the second BMX dirt competition of the 2010 season went down. With a pristine set of jumps ready for those who entered the event, the riding lived up to the level of the course. First place and the custom-made Gatorade bottle trophy went to 2008 Gatorade Free Flow Tour alum, Houston Harmsen. Houston’s choice run of the day started out with boosty, stylish airs and wrapped up with a 360 backed up by a flip whip on the last two kickers.
Houston won the day, but joining him at the Finals will be second- and third-place finishers Jason Lopez (who also competed in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in ’08) and Brian Miller.
