This past weekend, Ramp Rats in Petaluma, CA, hosted a Gatorade Free Flow Tour event for the sixth year in a row and once again proved why it’s one of only two parks that can boast a stop every year of the Tour’s history.
On literally the last day of the park’s existence at the Petaluma location (the park is relocating to Santa Rosa), Ramp Rats celebrated with yet another deep field of BMX talent vying for the all-expenses-paid trip to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals.
Jason Lopez took home the trophy and earned a spot in the BMX park finals in SLC with a 360 double whip, front flip, triple whip and a 720 whip, just to name a few. Chris Canepa took second, while Jimmy O’Hagan rounded out the top three.
Lopez adds his name to the list of riders competing in multiple events at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals in September after he was already slated for the BMX dirt finals with his third-place-finish at Windell’s a few weeks ago.

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour is taking over Kona this weekend for another BMX park contest. Typically a skate-only park, Kona will open up for all the BMXers in the area and park owner Martin Ramos couldn’t be happier.
“We’re stoked to bring BMX to the park for the first time, expanding the park with BMX features as well as programming to become a true action sports park,” Ramos said.
