Under the Gun: Grant Langston Tweet
Grant Langston isn’t exactly known for his ink, mainly because until recently, he didn’t have any. But, Cool G has gone under the gun, and we caught up with him to get the lowdown on his new tattoo on his inner bicep.
“I got a tattoo, probably to rebel against my parents, because growing up, my family was pretty strict. If you asked my parents, they would probably tell you that only the devil would get a tattoo. It wasn’t acceptable in South Africa when I was a kid. If someone had a tattoo, it was almost guaranteed they were a drug dealer or a murderer… it was not a good thing.”
“I, however, have never really been against them. Depending on where, what it is, and the moderation, they can be great. Ya know, on certain girls, if they have a secret tattoo, it’s sexy. For me, I’m not really into the full sleeves really; it’s a little too much for my liking. I think I am a little too conservative, but I always said that if I were to get a tattoo, I would draw it up myself, and I would get it on the inside of my arm. It’s there, it’s noticeable, but it can be subtle.”

“Mine consists of the African flag, the American flag, the Zulu warrior shield, my number 8, both of my kids’ names and birthdates, my wedding date, and the Langston family motto Loyal au Mort, which means “loyal til death.” Then it’s sort of decorated around with African savannah grass, to sort of symbolize me coming up grassroots.”
