Dungey up for Best Male Action Sport Athlete

Ryan Dungey, the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Rider of the Year, is up for the honor of Best Male Action Sport Athlete at this year’s ESPY Awards.

Thanks in large part to the Rider of the Year title as well as the overall crown in the 250 Class in ’09, Dungey made the jump to the 450 Class for the 2010 race season with great success already.

Up against other athletes including Shaun White, Garrett Reynolds, Bobby Brown and Mick Fanning, Dungey’s got some stiff competition for the ESPY Award, but five consecutive wins in the 450 Class won’t hurt his chances one bit.

In fact, they just might make the difference in the ESPY voting.
