Justin Barcia Tightens the Points Gap with 250 Overall Win at Washougal

GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia came through with a much-needed win Saturday at Washougal, his 2nd overall victory of the year.

Barcia spent a large part of the first moto chasing down Marvin Musquin, eventually passing the Frenchman and holding on for the win. Barcia followed up the victory with a holeshot in Moto 2, but despite leading the majority of the race, he was passed by Blake Baggett with under 2 minutes left on the countdown clock and had to settle for 2nd. His 1-2 scores were enough to win the overall though.

Thanks to several mistakes by Baggett in the first moto that landed the points leader in 6th, Barcia was able to make up signifcant ground in the championship race. Barcia cut into Baggett's lead by 7 points and will now enter the next round trailing by just 11 points.
