It was a scorcher in Orlando today for the 2nd day of the Rockstar WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by Supra. The best boats in the world were out pulling the Amateur division final rounds, along with the early heats of Pro Wakeskate and Junior Pro Men. There wasn’t a gust of wind in the epicenter of the wakeboarding community, as riders went out and tried to earn the most highly coveted title in the sport.
In the amateur divisions, all ages were on the water riding behind the flagship boats in the Supra line. The wake was massive, and there was lots of good riding going down during the Am divisions. There were a few riders grabbing their first World title in their career. USA’s Paulie Koch won his first ever World title in the Boys division, while Tony Iaconni from Australia made the trek over from down under to scoop up the Junior Men World title in his first year in the age group.
For the Pro Wakeskaters, the wake of the new Supra 242 allowed them to go out and throw down for the fans in their quarterfinal round. Advancing to the next round was Supra team rider, and defending Worlds champion Reed Hansen. Reed did switch and regular 360’s, and a late backside shuv to win his heat. For the Junior Pro Men, there was some killer riding out of Steel Lafferty, Daniel Powers, Nick Golotifore, and Freddie Wayne that solidified them into Sunday’s final round.

Brad Gearhart throws an off axis frontside 360 in the mix during his final runs at Worlds.
