Andreas has become a fixture on the contemporary snowboard scene. Whether winning contests; filming some of the best video parts or granting interviews in Transworld Snowboarding and Snowboarder magazines he displays unusual presence. Andreas was unstoppable last year taking 1st place finishes in the Vail Session, 2 X Games Gold Medals and Vans Cup Slopestyle, finished 1st place on the Transworld Snowboarding Exposure meter and was an ESPY nominee for Best Male Action Sport Athlete. He spends his winter months in the US between Tahoe, Canada and Mammoth and in the summers surfs in Newport Beach or head back home to Norway where he just purchased his dream penthouse apartment.

Questions with Andreas Wiig

If you weren’t on the slopes, what would be an ideal day?
To be somewhere tropic surfing perfect waves or to be at home in Oslo partying with my friends.

Who/what has had the biggest influence on your life?
My parents of course, my decision to go to the States and spend a season there. That changed everything.

In your next life, what will you do?
I will be a surf pro or soccer pro. Hopefully.

What type of car do you drive?
The new Toyota Tundra!

You’re deserted on an island, who/what would you bring with you?
Surfboard, guitar, girlfriend, Toblerone, sunscreen, phone

Who do you most admire in your sport? Why?
Travis Rice. The way he has pushed himself and the sport, especially the last two years, is amazing. I also admire Terje Haakonsen for making snowboarding what it is today.

Do you have any pets? If not, what animal would you most like to have as a pet?
Dog, isn't that a man's best friend?
How do you stay fit during the “off” season?
Surfing, skating, mountain bike, trampoline, working out.

If you could hang with any celebrity, who would it be and why?
Angelina Jolie since she is on my list.
