Jamie Bestwick never thought he would become a BMX legend. Although he started riding BMX with his friends at 10 years old, Bestwick only kept up with the sport as a hobby. Now, as BMX Verts leading man, Jamie is probably thankful he quit his job of checking airline fan blades, and moved to the US with his wife. His hard work soon paid off.

In 1996, Bestwick competed in his first X Games, coming in third. In 2000, Jamie ended Dave Mirras BMX Vert reign, and took home ht gold. He was unbeatable since then. In 2005, Jamie Bestwick won every single competition he entered, and despite missing the first stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour due to the birth of his son, Jamie came home with the win in overall standings. 2006 was a difficult year; however, just coming back from a serious injury, Bestwick didnt let down his fans and won the year-end Dew Cup standings as well as the AST Athlete of the Year. During last years AST, it wasnt a clear win for Bestwick as the entire season was a heated race between himself and fellow Englishman, Simon Tabron. Still, Bestwick came out on top, showing everyone that he is still the one to beat.
