The Girls Of The Superpipe
Meet Olympic Snowboarder Kelly Clark
Last night Shaun White grabbed his second gold medal and Scotty Lago took home the bronze. The American snowboard teams have dominated the Olympics since snowboarding was added and tonight they hope to continue that trend. The women hit the halfpipe today and once again the US team is choked full of Winter Dew Tour athletes. Three ladies on the US team took the top 3 spots in last year’s Winter Dew Tour. Leading the way and eager to be back on the podium after her 4th place finish in Torino is Kelly Clark who was the Dew Cup Champion.

MATADOR Bold Replay - Kaitlyn Farrington, Snowboard Superpipe Final, Toyota Championship
By: Kelli Redes - As the light show began and pumped up the massive crowd, the women’s superpipe final contestants, or should we say, rockstars were all introduced. The six final women included hot young guns Kaitlyn Farrington, Maddy Schaffrick, and Kelly Marren, as well as the talented Jamie Anderson, Šárka Pančochová and Kjersti Buass. At the top of the pipe, the girls were all smiles, and the attitudes were surprisingly light and refreshing. The sportsmanship and cheer of the girls however, seemed to be just the right mood to get the girls started off right.

Kaitlyn Farrington is on a mission and her 95.50 in last night’s prelims at the Toyota Championships, says she is serious about trying to lay claim to this year’s Dew Cup Championship in women’s Superpipe. With the absence of Olympians Queralt Castellet (Spain) and Elena Hight (USA) opportunity has knocked and Kaitlyn is ready to answer the door. However, Kaitlyn is not the only pipe master that is hears the knock though; Kjersti Ostgaard Buaas and Kelly Marren hear it loud and clear and made sure to secure their places in Saturday’s final, finishing second and fourth.
