Dew Cup Awards Ceremony
The sixth season of the Dew Tour is in the books, ending with the Dew Tour Championships at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The top athletes in skateboarding and BMX were honored at the Dew Cup Awards Ceremony held inside famed concert venue, The Joint by Rogue.
Paul Mitchell Breakthrough Athlete of the Year Winner Coco Zurita
Voted on by the athletes, the Breakthrough Athlete of the Year award recognizes an athlete who does something that surpasses expectations. This season, the award went to Coco Zurita.
PlayStation Player of the Year Bucky Lasek
Bucky Lasek was recognized as the 2010 PlayStation Player of the Year. Proving that he best represents himself in and out of action sports through progression and innovation of his sport, support of action sports and its growth and overall sportsmanship, Lasek turned right around and donated his giant check to the Athlete Recovery Fund.
Ball Park Rookie of the Year Pat Casey
Pat Casey earned the title of Ball Park Rookie of the Year as the athlete competing on the Tour for the first time with the highest number of points in all of the BMX disciplines.
Dickies Open Qualifier Winner Brett Banasiewicz
Presented to the BMX athlete that competed in Open Qualifiers and finished highest overall in their O.Q. weekend debut, Brett Banasiewicz won the BMX dirt final at the Dew Tour’s Nike 6.0 BMX Open in Chicago, Ill. this past July.
Dickies Open Qualifier Winner Pedro Barros
Pedro Barros kicked off the 2010 season by placing fourth in the skate vert finals at the Dew Tour’s Skate Open in Boston, earning the title of Dickies Open Qualifier along the way. Making it into three finals during the 2010 season, Barros also claimed the Ball Park Rookie of the Year award.
Toyota Athlete of the Year Jamie Bestwick
Jamie Bestwick accumulated 435 points during the season, winning the Toyota Athlete of the Year award as the athlete who earned the most overall points in any one discipline during the 2010 Dew Tour season.
PlayStation Pro Moment Winner Chad Kagy
Given to the athlete who performed the single best trick throughout the five-stop Dew Tour season, the PlayStation Pro Moment was awarded to Chad Kagy for his barspin to no-handed flair, performed for the first time ever at the Dew Tour Championships.
BMX Dirt Dew Cup Champ Brandon Dosch
Brandon Dosch's win at the Dew Tour Championships, coupled with his pair of second-place finishes at other stops during the 2010 Dew Tour season, allowed him to jump to the top of the year-long standings and earn the first Dew Cup of his career.
Skate Vert Dew Cup Champ Pierre-Luc Gagnon
PLG earned the second Dew Cup of his career thanks to a win at the Skate Open to start the season and three consecutive second-place finishes that followed.
BMX Vert Dew Cup Winner Jamie Bestwick
Jamie Bestwick racked up nine consecutive victories, including three on the 2010 Dew Tour, en route to his sixth straight Dew Cup and the undisputed title of the king of BMX vert.
BMX Park Dew Cup Winner Daniel Dhers
Daniel Dhers landed on the podium at each stop of the 2010 Dew Tour, using his consistency to top the overall standings and claim the fourth Dew Cup of his career.
Skate Park Dew Cup Champ Chaz Ortiz
Chaz Ortiz won the final two events of 2010 season, jumping from second in the rankings to first overall thanks to his win at the Dew Tour Championships. Ortiz collected the second Dew Cup of his career.
