After winning the Gatorade Free Flow Tour title last month, Majerus held the top spot for most of the competition, earning an 88.75 and holding a seven-point lead over the rest of the field until Ryan Decenzo’s consistency bumped him into second place. The 15-year-old am landed a front feeble and blunt slide fakie to earn his spot in the finals.

Majerus follows in the footsteps of fellow Gatorade Free Flow Tour alums Chaz Ortiz and Timmy Knuth, who both advanced to the finals as ams. As a 13-year-old champion, Ortiz surprised everyone by taking sixth overall at the final Dew Tour event of the 2007 season. The next year, Knuth did him one better, finishing just off the podium in fourth place in the skate park finals.

Majerus and the other top nine skaters from prelims will all compete again on Friday, facing Ryan Sheckler, Ortiz and points leader Greg Lutzka in the skate park finals which take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with the N.E.R.D concert immediately following. Dew Tour Championships tickets are still available.
