Talent's Chris Colbourn Punches Return Ticket to GFFT Finals

The Gatorade Free Flow Tour descended upon Talent Skatepark today, using their newly revamped facility for some great skating. Kids came from as far as Jersey to take their shot at earning a plane ticket to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals.

The Junior Jammers got things going first, already setting the bar high for the day. Park favorite Nate Duggan snagged third for the day with a transfer from the fly box to A-frame, kickflip down the 5 set and backside 360 melon over the fly box. Jersey grom Dante Tonella slid nicely into second, landing a front board on the A-frame rail, nollie lip on the vert wall, and a board slide down the 8 set. In first was Elijah Ackerley, taking his second Junior Jam win of the season with a front lip down the small rail, backside 180 the 5 set, an airwalk over the fly box and a nollie bigspin over the pyramid.

Once the Junior Jammers wrapped things up, we took to the Open Division. Five of the day’s best shreds moved forward into the finals. Anders Melen rounded things out, taking fifth place by front and backside lipping the A-frame as well as landing a backside air on the vert wall and a front tailslide on the bank wall. Chris Peterson came in fourth with a backside 3 melon over the fly box, front tail the bank wall and front feeble over the A-frame. Mikey Leven, who took second at Skaters Edge, grabbed third by landing a gap to lip on the vert wall, 360 shuv mute on the fly box and a crooked grind on the 8 set. Cody Hale got second with a nollie switch feeble on the A-frame, frontside 5-0 on the bank wall to disaster on the small quarter and in, nollie back boardslide on the A-frame and a big spin down the 8 stair.

Winning the trip to the finals for the second year in a row at Talent was Chris “Cookie” Colbourn, who kickflipped over the A-frame rail, then landed a bigspin front board the A-frame rail, hardlipped the 8 set and closed it out with a boosty ollie to tail slide on the bank wall from the small quarter.
