Wyatt Milhollan, Phil Hansen Punch Return Tickets at Woodward Denver
The Gatorade Free Flow Tour dropped into the Rocky Mountains today with the skate vert and park contests at Woodward Denver. It was a hot day and everyone was eager to skate for a chance to get a ticket to the finals in SLC this September.
In the vert discipline, it all came down to an impressive top five finalists. Coming in fifth place was Bryce Stark, landing a frontside layback air and multiple backside 360s. Fourth place went to Reid Watson, who put down an alley-oop backside air, frontside tuck knees and a frontside 360. Jake Pates placed third with a clean finals run including frontside and backside 360’s. A close second place went to Derek Scott, hailing from Salida, CO, landing some big tricks in the finals, including a backside 50-50, a handful of miller flips and a fakie 360.
Phil Hansen, a park finalist in 2009, took first place, earning a trip back to the finals in SLC. His finals run consisted of a fakie 360, big spin, backside flip and a few hand plants.

Skate Vert Podium
The junior jammers came out hungry today with some hammers going down in the skate park finals. Fifth-place finisher Cole Plates came through with some smooth manuals across the pyramid, backside board slides and frontside 360. Justin Harrell took fourth place with an airwalk over the pyramid, kickflip and blunt slide. Tommy Crabtree landed some frontside 50-50’s, backside boardslides, and lip slides to earn a third-place finish. Second place went to Matthew Candelaria with some fakie lip slides, backside salad and a frontside 180 down the pyramid. Coming in first place was Angelo Subia with a winning run that included a 50-50 down the hubba, 50-50 to kickflip and frontside smith.

The open division was a stacked competition with a lot of talented skaters coming out. Fifth-place finisher Josh Jackson was going for it with some big backside rock and rolls on the top of the wallride, frontside airs on the hip and a 5-0 on the box. Coming in fourth place was Owen Hatcher and his backside disaster revert, lipslides and fakie tail slides. Third place went to Cameron Lawrence with a smith on the box, boneless off the wallride and frontside blunt. In second place was Phil Hansen, landing a 360 flip boardslide, 50-50 and backside boardslide 270 out.
Coming in first place was Wyatt Milhollan and his technical finals run which included a 50-50 backside 180 out, crooked, 360 flip on the bank, switch lipslide and full cabs.
