Once again James Stewart takes home the Oakley Bomb award, setting the fastest lap on the last lap of the final session with a 2:08.757. Mike Alessi held the fast lap for the entirety of the session til Stewart uncorked the speed on the last lap.
In the second session the track sped up by about 2 to 3 seconds as some of the slop and loose dirt got pushed from the main line. Jake Weimer set the third fastest time with a 2:09.913. Ryan Dungey, Nico Izzi, Ryan Sipes, Davi Millsaps, Broc Tickle, Andrew Short and Matt Lemoine rounded out the top ten.
250 Class
The Red Bull KTM teammates Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen topped the timed qualifying session! Musquin set a blistering 2:08.740, besting not only all the 250’s, but the 450’s as well. A few seconds back with a 2:10.214 was Ken Roczen, and Eli Tomac was in third with a 2:10.237.
Jason Anderson, Justin Barcia, Wil Hahn, Ivan Tedesco, Blake Wharton, Kyle Cunningham and Jessy Nelson rounded out the top ten. The track was getting significantly faster throughout the session but once it dries out, it should slow down a bit.
