MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports have announced a multi-year agreement with Red Bull, the world's leading energy drink, to become the "Official Energy Drink of Pro Motocross" for the upcoming Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. The partnership will be highlighted by Red Bull title sponsorship at three of the 12 national events this summer -- Budds Creek (June 16), RedBud (July 7) and Unadilla (August 18).

"We couldn't be more proud to welcome Red Bull to the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship," said MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs. "Their presence within action sports and motorsports speaks for itself and with their commitment, Pro Motocross is sure to reach new heights this season and beyond."

In addition to serving as the primary sponsor for the KTM factory team and Troy Lee Designs, Red Bull also supports some of the sport's most recognizable names, including James Stewart, Ryan Dungey, international superstars Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin as well as Women's Motocross athletes Ashley Fiolek and Tarah Gieger.

"Red Bull has been such a big part of motocross for so long that it's a natural fit for them to partner with Pro Motocross," said James Stewart, who will make his full-time return to the series since winning all 24 motos en-route to the 2008 championship. "The brand has been a great partner to me personally and I'm really excited that the whole sport will benefit from their involvement."

Red Bull's venture into series support presents expanded content and distribution opportunities for Pro Motocross, while also generating a noticeable presence at the races, thanks to its iconic Energy Station that will be present at select rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Additionally, the brand's recognizable "World of Red Bull" image will be felt at each of the season's 12 events.

"It's so great that Red Bull will be the official energy drink of Pro Motocross," said three-time and reigning Women's Motocross Champion, Ashley Fiolek. "Red Bull's support and passion for motocross is so strong and I know it will be felt at the races!"

In addition to its on-site activation, Red Bull will establish expanded video content for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship by showcasing weekly highlight packages of the races on Servus TV, run by Red Bull Media House, as well as exclusive features on the nationals and Red Bull athletes on the brand's digital platforms.

With four former Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Champions set to line up on the start gate this May, the anticipation for the 2012 season is at an all-time high. In addition to the premier 450 Class, the young superstars of the 250 Class and Women's Motocross Championship are set to provide a high level of competition all summer long.

<![CDATA[Lake Elsinore Motocross Park is the New Southern California Home of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship]]> http://allisports.com/motocross/news/lake-elsinore-motocross-park-is-the-new-southern-california-home-of-lucas-o The brand new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will become the new home of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Southern California. MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports are pleased to welcome the completely renovated Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park as the host site of the season finale, set to take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

]]>
MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli Sports announce that the brand new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will become the new home of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, in Southern California. On the heels of announcing the 2012 series schedule and advance ticket sales for next summer, both parties are pleased to welcome the completely renovated Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park as the host site of the season finale, set to take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

Located in the hotbed of the motocross industry, and about an hour outside of the major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and San Diego, Lake Elsinore serves as an ideal location for fans of the sport across the entire southern portion of the state. It's also well-known to students of the sport's history as the site of the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix, which was featured prominently in the epic motorcycle racing documentary film On Any Sunday back in 1971 - one year before the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship was born.

"A successful search has landed the Pro Motocross finale at what we feel is the ideal location for a national event in Southern California," said MX Sports President Davey Coombs. "This is a brand new facility that was built from the ground up to host such an event, and offers riders one of the best layouts of any track in the country. We like to close out the summer where the sport of motocross thrives, and we believe we've found the perfect place in Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park."

The Marc Peters-designed venue is state-of-the-art in terms of motocross and features multiple elevation changes, spectacular obstacles, and easy access for the fans. The facility was designed with not only riders but spectators in mind as well, with paved roads and walkways, lush landscaping, camping amenities and designated areas at multiple elevations for viewing.

"Sight lines might be one of the most underrated values of what makes or breaks any motocross track for the fans," said Peters, himself a former pro racer and the son of recent Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee Stu Peters. "We built this so there isn't a bad spot to watch from, no matter where you choose to stand. It was our dream to host a national and in an effort to do so, we took away from all the various experiences at the many tracks that have been a part of American Motocross in the past to make what we hope to be the ideal motocross facility, for both riders and spectators."

The original Lake Elsinore track was a local hotspot for many years, but over time, newer venues throughout the region garnered the attention of enthusiasts and pros, ultimately forcing it to shut its doors two years ago. After months of sculpting and fine-tuning, the new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park opened its doors to the public the first weekend in December. While the facility is ready for business (and has been getting rave reviews for the complete makeover) there is still plenty of work to be done, including the completion of a full Lucas Oil four-wheel off-road short course stadium on the property and the finishing touches of what will be the site of the final round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

In addition to hosting the best riders on the planet this September, Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will also be the final stop of the Women's Motocross Championship. The eight-race season will feature the fastest women riders in the world, including multi-time champions Ashley Fiolek and Jessica Patterson, bringing a fitting conclusion to what is sure to be a memorable final weekend for Pro Motocross and the inaugural national event at Southern California's newest facility.

Racer X Films recently visited Lake Elsinore on opening day, showcasing the newest playground for motocross riders throughout California. More details about the new Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park can be found at www.raceLE.com.

]]>
Just weeks after celebrating the conclusion of an epic 40th season of professional motocross racing, MX Sports Pro Racing and partners, Alli Sports, are pleased to announce the 2012 schedule for the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. The series will begin on Saturday, May 19, near Sacramento, Calif., at the Hangtown Classic - the longest-running event on the schedule - and will conclude on September 8 in Southern California, at the championship's newest stop (to be announced at a later date). Throughout the summer, the 12-round series will visit such highly-regarded motocross circuits as High Point, in Pennsylvania, RedBud, in Michigan, Washougal, in Washington, and New York's legendary Unadilla.

"We are very fortunate to have so many great, iconic motocross tracks as part of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship-tracks that challenge the racers and have strong, loyal fan bases that come out to see these races," said MX Sports Pro Racing President Davey Coombs. "This series is the pinnacle of professional motocross, and the growth we've seen in the last three years for both the live audiences and television viewers watching from all over the world has been outstanding."

Ryan Villopoto will look to defend his title in 2012

Not only does the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship include the best tracks in the sport, it also features the fastest riders on the planet, as well as an expanded television package with NBC Sports Group. Add in a global television package that allows fans from all over the world to tune in, plus live event streaming on www.allisports.com, and the result is an unprecedented audience for motocross racing.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ryan Villopoto will defend his #1 plate against no less than three former 450 Class Champions in 2012. Besides the man he wrestled the 2011 title from, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey, as well as a hugely-popular Australian star in TwoTwo Motorsports' Chad Reed, Villopoto must also contend with James Stewart, who is returning to outdoor motocross for the first time since his perfect 2008 season as a member of the Joe Gibbs Racing/Toyota/Yamaha team. There will also be challenges from such formidable programs as Team Honda Muscle Milk, the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team, MotoConcepts/Alessi Racing, the new L&Mc Racing Honda team spearheaded by legend Jeremy McGrath, and more.

2010 champ Ryan Dungey will be among the contenders challenging RV2

In the 250 Class, newly-crowned champion, and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider, Dean Wilson will not only have to defend his title against the best young riders in America, he will also be pursued by the two most recent MX2 World Champions. Frenchman Marvin Musquin and German sensation Ken Roczen have each earned Grand Prix titles on 250cc motorcycles, and will now join forces at Red Bull KTM to challenge Wilson for the most-coveted outdoor title in the sport, a Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Add in the formidable GEICO Honda team, DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing Yamaha, Rockstar Energy Suzuki, JDR KTM, in addition to Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil Honda, and the 2012 season is ripe for exceptional competition.

Additionally, the Women's Motocross Championship will be included at eight rounds. Led by defending champion, Team Honda Muscle Milk's Ashley Fiolek, who claimed her third title in four years as a pro, the world's fastest women riders are set to bring even more excitement to the series. Fiolek can once again expect serious competition from her primary rival, and fellow multi-time champion, Jessica Patterson of the DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing Yamaha team.

Following the traditional opener at Hangtown, series favorites - Freestone, Thunder Valley, High Point, Budds Creek, RedBud, Spring Creek, Washougal, Southwick, Unadilla and Steel City - all return to compose the bulk of the 2012 schedule. While some venues' traditional dates on the calendar have shifted, they remain as part of the integral foundation of American Motocross.

The season finale will feature a new venue in the motocross hotbed of Southern California. Details and additional information will follow.

Tickets for all 12 rounds of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship will be on sale on Moto Monday, December 5th. Since that time, motocross has enjoyed unprecedented growth with fans, and has seen its television audience nearly quadruple in just three years. This new partnership comes on the heels of a highly successful 2011 season that reached the largest overall motocross audience through television, digital and on-site viewers in the sport's 40-year history. "The new television package not only provides new opportunities for our fans, but allows us to better support both our current and future business partners with more robust and flexible sponsorship packages," said Alli Sports President Wade Martin. "The Series has seen amazing growth on all levels and the new television package is another big step."

- Dan Fahie was named Team Manager for the Monster Energy Kawasaki program.

- Yoshimura Suzuki team manager Mike Webb stated in a podcast that the team will go forward with Brett Metcalfe as its lone rider next year, opting to wait for next year's potential free agent crop to pick up a 2nd rider.

- According to a tweet, Davi Millsaps will be back with JGR in 2012 as James Stewart's new teammate.

- Within the next few days, Josh Grant will be officially introduced as Jeff Ward Racing's first rider.

- Andrew Short is returning to Honda in 2012. He becomes the first rider to sign on with the new team being run by Larry Brooks and Jeremy McGrath.

- After 2 years with JGR, Justin Brayton will be teaming up with Trey Canard on the American Honda team.

- Justin Barcia will be working with motocross legend Jeff Stanton to train for 2012.
