Mike Alessi takes the holeshot with Josh Grant in second, and Jake Weimer, Zack Freeberg and Ryan Dungey behind him. Dungey gets by Weimer on lap two to grab the third position.
Ten minutes into the moto, Alessi is still leading. Grant sits 2nd, but Dungey is stalking him in 3rd. Dungey makes his way around Grant on lap four.
At the halfway point, Weimer is all over Grant for the third position and would make the pass shortly thereafter.
At the front of the pack, Dungey is on the back tire of Alessi, but makes a mistake and has to re-enter the track a few seconds back of the #800. On lap eight, Alessi holds a two-second advantage over Dungey. Weimer is 3rd, Grant 4th, and Tickle 5th.
Three laps later, Alessi gets passed by Dungey for the lead. He tries fighting back, but Dungey slowly pulls away and goes on to take the moto win and the overall. Weimer finishes behind the pair in 3rd.

Rookie Jeremy Martin takes the holeshot with Eli Tomac behind, but Michael McDade makes his way into 2nd at his hometown race. They round the first lap with Tomac leading and Ken Roczen, Justin Barcia, McDade and Justin Bogle rounding out the top five. Blake Baggett is 7th.
Tomac still leads at the halfway point, with Roczen in 2nd and Barcia in 3rd. Baggett has moved up to 5th.
Baggett gets by Musquin for 4th on lap nine, giving Baggett crucial points in the championship race.
Eli Tomac makes his way across the finish line and goes 1-1 for the overall win. Roczen finishes 2nd and Barcia 3rd.
Completing a 4-4 result on the day, Blake Baggett saw his lead over Eli Tomac get cut in half with one race to go. The pair will be separated by 14 points entering Lake Elsinore, with Justin Barcia lurking not far behind.
