Recap by Nick Thiel
450 Class
It was Mike Alessi that everyone had their eyes on, leading the way with a time of 2:30.084. Behind him was Nico Izzi, Jake Weimer, Josh Grant and Christian Craig making up the top five. It was a rather rough practice for the already-crowned champ Ryan Dungey, qualifying a modest 9th.
The track was rather one-lined, and the racing circuit should be better when the motos start.
250 Class
Eli Tomac came out with the fastest qualifying time of the day in either class with a 2:26.656. He topped Ken Roczen, Blake Baggett, Marvin Musquin and Justin Barcia to take the pole position going into the motos.
As the final lites session showed, the track will only get faster for the second motos and we should see some of the best racing of the year.
