Recap
The holeshot goes to Millsaps, but Short sneaks by him for the lead, with Dungey, Alessi, Stewart and Tickle all running right behind. Rounding lap one, Short leads with Dungey second, and Alessi, Stewart and Millsaps making up the top five.
On the 2nd lap, Dungey takes the lead from Short. At the beginning of the next lap, Alessi jumped by Short for the second position.
On lap five, Stewart crashes after doing a technical triple section through the rollers and would not rejoin the race.
With 10 minutes to go, Dungey only has a 1 second lead over Alessi, who’s not giving up. Tickle makes his way around Millsaps for the fourth position on lap eleven.
By the time the field hits 2 laps to go, Dungey has pulled the lead out to about 6 seconds and looks to be on his way to taking the checkered flag. Winning the moto, Dungey takes the overall and his second championship - the first for KTM in the USA!

Recap
Justin Barcia takes the holeshot and the early lead. His GEICO Honda temmates Zach Bell and Justin Bogle are both right there, as well as Marvin Musquin. Lots of shuffling going on in the first lap within the top ten. The riders round the first lap with Barcia leading, and he’s followed by Bell, Musquin, Tomac, Bogle, Davalos, Baggett, Roczen, Hahn and Nelson.
On lap three, Tomac makes his way by Musquin into third and is going after his teammate Zach Bell. Tomac made his way past Bell one lap later and moved into second place, all the while setting the fastest lap of the moto thus far.
Bell falls from third to seventh after making a mistake on lap six, handing Musquin the third position.
At the halfway point, Barcia only has a 1.5 second lead over Tomac. Musquin, Bogle Baggett, Roczen, Davalos, Hahn, Bell and Nelson round out the top ten.
Tomac makes his way around his teammate Barcia for the lead as lap eight comes to an end. With 3 laps to go, rookie Zach Bell crashes out of the moto while running 8th.
Eli Tomac goes on to take the win. Justin Barcia takes second place, and Musquin holds off Bogle to take third, which was good enough for his first overall.
