2009 Dew Tour Dates Announced

Daniel Dhers High above Orlando

As we write this, it’s fifty-degrees and sunny in New York, and beyond making us itch to go shred during our lunch break, the weather’s got us thinking about the 2009 Dew Tour.

This year’s Dew Tour host cities are as follows: Chicago, Illinois (June 26-27); Boston, Massachusetts (July 24-25); Portland, Oregon (August 14-16); Salt Lake City, Utah (September 18-20); and Orlando, Florida (October 15-18).

Chicago and Boston, both great cities for BMX-riding and skateboarding and first-time Dew Tour stops, will host sport-specific competitions, including Open-Qualifying events. The Second City--second not to New York but because the city burned down in 1871 and Chicagoans built it up again--will host a BMX-only Stop (Park, Dirt, and Vert). Boston—the city of Chowder, the color Green, and people with freckles and funny accents--will stand as the exclusive skateboarding stop (Park, Vert). All three sports (Skateboarding, BMX, and the non-OQ-requiring FMX) will be represented at the final three tour stops: Portland, Salt Lake City, and Orlando, where the PlayStation Pro will decide the Dew Cup winners.

Chaz Ortiz, the 2008 Skate Park Dew Cup Champion, said he was hyped for the Beantown stop because of the city’s huge skate community. The Chicagoan said he’s also looking forward to competing at TD Banknorth Garden, home of the Celtics. Getting to skate with Ryan Sheckler, Paul Rodriguez, and Greg Lutzka again— “great skaters” whom Chaz “looks up to”—only sweetens the deal.

As for the BMX-end of things, four-time Vert Dew Cup champion Jamie Bestwick is already looking toward the Windy City. “This is a great opportunity for BMX to get attention from the core fans, along with the future fans of the sport.”

i like this sport very much and i wanna to do this but i cant this due to no time from work for security+ exam iwill do this after this exam

i cant believe they arnt bringing it to clevelanddddd!;
i only went on the last day last year and i didnt even get to be there
for that longgg.

i was realllly looking forward to this year. thats reallly gay
that there not doing it.

I am absolutely shocked and disgusted that they would do this. I look forward to this tour all year long and the last thing I want is to be shorted on events. The death of this tour will be changing it up too much like by doing this single event thing for the first two stops. It's stupid and people WILL NOT be exposed to all sports this way.

I first noticed that the tour was changing when they stopped broadcasting all of the sports on television, (or maybe that was just my state's fault. My state is stupid) and then this merger with Alli sports happened, ast.com was pretty much shut down and the address was changed to astdewtour.com I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) and now it's got the letter p in there somewhere.

I'm scared that the Dew Tour won't exist in a few years, and then that will just be another show that I liked that got cancelled. I don't want that to happen. I don't know why but my state didn't broadcast on NBC at all today, (Tennis was being shown all day after morning cartoons.....) So pretty much the only BMX I was exposed to was BMX dirt, and even then we were shorted out on all the runs. WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING??? I know it's hard to fit everything into an hour, so make it two hours. And then of course I forgot to watch tonight's episode of BMX Park, (the hours that they are broadcast in the central timezone are so ridiculously late.) I wanted to have just one year of the Dew Tour where I could see every single second episode, but it looks like that won't be happening this year.

Hopefully next year will be a good one because this, quite franky, is utterly RIDICULOUS!

COME BACK TO DENVER!!!

i cant believe that its not stoppin back at cleveland. i went last year and it was freakin sweet. i hope you guys bring it back next year to cleveland!!

COME BACK TO BALTIMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooo gay thats its not comin to baltimore:(

YES!

I'm mad that they aren't coming to Cleveland this year. I had to go out of town last year when they were here because my great ant was really sick and she died. I was looking to go this year. I hope there are reading this and see people are mad that they charge things.
