4 Finalists Get To Flow To Pro This Weekend In Orlando

Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finalists

This weekend, 4 kids get their chance to “Flow To Pro.” The four overall winners from the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals get their chance to skate and ride against the best in action sports at the last stop of the Dew Tour. As they prepare for the biggest competition of their lives, its time to take a closer look at the best of the best from the 2009 Gatorade Free Flow Tour .

First, the winner of the skate park competition, Jack Olson. Hailing from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, the 14 year old skated at three different stops this summer, finally taking first place and the plane ticket to Salt Lake City, UT at the 4 Seasons stop. Last month was his second time competing in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, and his experience paid off when Olson dug deep in his bag of tricks to pull out the win and the overall title.

Next, the winner from skate vert competition, Clay Kreiner, making his way to Salt Lake City from Simpsonville, SC. After winning his spot at the Factory Skatepark in Newnan, GA, the 12-year-old beat out some heavy competition on the vert ramp. Being the youngest skater in the vert finals didn’t stop this guy from throwing out some huge 540’s to win him his title.

Then we have the winner from BMX park, Matt Whyatt. Matt definitely traveled the farthest to be part of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, coming all the way from Barwon Heads, Australia. He took the top spot at the Jaycee Extreme Park in Greenville, NC and is one of the featured riders in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour webisodes. His mentor, Colin Mackay, took him under his wing when he arrived in the US, so Matt is excited to get to ride against Colin in Orlando after the win at the Finals.

Finally, the winner from BMX Vert, Mykel Larrin. This very talented rider competed in both BMX disciplines at the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals. After taking 3rd in BMX park, he got a second chance to make it to Orlando when he also rode in the BMX vert finals. He made his hometown of Racine, WI proud with both of his spots on the podium. Mykel competed in the Finals with 18 staples in his head -- which he got the previous week after hitting his head on his handle bars -- but that didn't deter him from earning the win and the trip to the Dew Tour.

After being crowned Gatorade Free Flow Tour champions, all 4 of these young guys have been practicing hard to prepare for the last stop of the Dew Tour. If anything, these four showcase the true talent that is coming up fast within the action sports world. Tune in this weekend to find out how each guy did against the pros!
