Eli Tomac signs multi-year extension with Kawasaki

Life is pretty good for Eli Tomac right now. He's been on fire in supercross the past few weeks and managed to move into a tie with Ryan Dungey in the race for the 450SX championship Saturday night in Seattle.

Now, Tomac has a new contract in hand. Monster Energy Kawasaki announced on Monday that they had locked up the Colorado native to a multi-year extension. Specifics of the deal were not mentioned in the press release.

Tomac originally signed a two-year deal with the factory Kawasaki team prior to the start of the 2016 season. It came on the heels of what looked like a breakout season in the making – he won the first five motos of the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross campaign before succumbing to injury – with GEICO Honda, and although it took some time, things are really clicking for both Tomac and Kawasaki right now (five wins in the last six races, eight supercross wins total so far this year).

Last year, Tomac finished second in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 450 Class point standings and recorded a pair of overall victories. He also finished on the podium at 10 of the 12 rounds.
