By: Mike Rogge - Groms, groms, groms. The Gatorade Free Flow Tour made good on it's promise to showcase the best groms North America has to offer and today's pipe competition did not disappoint. Tomorrow's superstars hit the pipe like pros, threw down like the big boys, and proved the line between am and pro has never been blurrier.
Shining brightly in the warm Vermont sun was Torin Yater Wallace hailing from Colorado. Torin improved upon his first run, tossing in smooth spins in the West Dover superpipe and boosting with textbook grabs to snag himself a 92.75! Congrats Torin, you're in next year's Winter Dew Tour!
Standing just one podium spot below Torin was none other than his Colorado brethren, Patrick Baskins. Baskins made sure his 9’s and 5’s were stomped and, because the judges like those qualities in pipe runs, was rewarded with second place.
Rounding out the all West Coast podium on the East Coast was Michael Bochenek from Truckee, CA. California is known for it’s stylie riders and Michael did the C-A proud with the solid third place finish. Nice!

On the slopestyle side of things, the kids put on a clinic, showing up some of the pros in attendence! 270’s on were the going trend on the upper rail feature and the two-jump line made for a high flying show.
Taking home first place and a guaranteed spot in next year’s Winter Dew Tour was the Norwegian Steffen Hamre. Steffan threw down an impressive switch 10 on the bottom hit that had Tom Wallisch stoked. Tom congratulated the young kid from Norway with a friendly high five. Next year they’ll be competing against one another.
In second was the Minnesota monster Austin Torvinen. Austin’s second run scored him a 88.25 and his switch 9’s were on point and his stylie bonks on the Gatorade feature at the bottom were easily the best of the day.
Finishing off the podium was Jason Arens hailing from sunny Lake Tahoe, CA. Jason’s consistency on both his runs were enough to land him with a third place finish.
Just missing the podium was Vermont local and steeze machine, Parker White, the only competitor with a double. Parker’s double front was a crowd pleaser and had the bottom of the slope course cheering into the frigid Vermont air.
That’s all from the first annual Gatorade Free Flow Tour. Thanks for tuning in and stay tuned to allisports.com for all your freeskiing wants and needs!
