Twenty-two contenders have been knocked down to a lucky seven who will advance to Skate Park Prelims. The last open stop on the Dew Action Sports Tour - the Right Guard Open - hosts the final round of Open Qualifiers for riders the last chance to be part of the next three Dew Tour stops.
Skaters battled it out today on the skate park, each getting two 45-second shots at one of seven spots. The best of two runs was taken from each skater and the top seven who fought through the Denver heat will advance to Skate Park Prelims Thursday evening.
As we saw in Louisville, anything can happen in Prelims. Nyjah Huston blew away spectators, skaters and fans alike with smooth style in Qualifiers and Prelims at the Panasonic Open; the eleven year-old showed consistency the entire way through claiming second only to Ryan Shekler in Finals.
It's anyone's guess, as we were all shown that you never know who can claim stake at a Dew Tour stop. The seven who will advance from the Open Qualifiers in Denver are:
