Marvin Musquin left off France's Motocross of Nations team

August 8, 2018

When France goes for a fifth consecutive Motocross of Nations title this year, they'll be doing it without the assistance of Marvin Musquin.

The team announced their roster today, and it includes Gautier Paulin (MXGP), Romain Febvre (Open) and Dylan Ferrandis (MX2). Missing from the squad is Musquin. The Red Bull KTM star looked like a strong selection because this year's race is at RedBud, a track that Musquin has a lot of experience on. He was also the overall winner at this season's Lucas Oil Pro Motocross race held there.

Instead, France will roll with Paulin and Febvre, who both have a lot of experience winning MXoN trophies. Paulin has been a part of all four championship-winning squads since 2014, and Febvre has been a part of the last three teams. Musquin last raced for Team France (in the MX2 division) in 2015.

Racing the MX2 Class alongside Paulin and Febvre will be Ferrandis, who — like Musquin — is quite familiar with the track. Ferrandis finished third overall in the 250 Class round at RedBud this season. This will be his first Motocross of Nations appearance since 2014.

This year's MXoN will take place October 6-7.
