MORGANTOWN, W.V. (May 30, 2009) - The legendary sound of the 2 stroke engine will once again be featured at the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. MX Sports Pro Racing, in cooperation with FMF, an industry leader in motocross and off road exhaust systems, presents the inaugural FMF 2-Stroke Invitational series, which will be held in conjunction with selected rounds of the 2009 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
The 2-Stroke races will be held at four events over the course of the summer: RedBud, Spring Creek, Unadilla, and Budds Creek. Each race will utilize a one moto format and any and every 2-stroke motorcycle is eligible to compete, including all displacements ranging from 125cc to 500cc.
"MX Sports Pro Racing recognizes both the tradition of the 2-Stroke as well as the unique sound that so many motocross fans have long associated with, and we are very excited about these events," said Nick McCabe of MX Sports Pro Racing. "The FMF 2-Stroke Invitational will certainly be a fan favorite, and something all-new for 2009 at these specific events."

July 18 Spring Creek Millville, Minn.

MX Sports Pro Racing and FMF are also issuing a call out to all former past champions and legends who wish to take to the track again and compete in these unique and fun events.
"2-strokes are easy to work on, inexpensive to own and a blast to ride," boasted FMF founder Don Emler. "FMF hasn't forgotten most of us ride because it puts a smile on our face. When the idea came along for the 2-Stroke invitational, FMF jumped at the opportunity to get back to the basics."
The 2-stroke invitational is a part of the Legends & Heroes tour that will travel with the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship throughout the 2009 season. The tour will feature vintage displays, photos and videos of motocross history as well as former motocross champions in attendance to greet the fans and sign autographs.
All four events of the 2-Stroke Invitational are by application and pre-entry only. Further Information regarding the FMF 2-Stroke Invitational is available at www.mxsportsproracing.com.

Help me with this. A 250 2 stroke could retail for 35-3900.00 and the factories could make money there and privateer(or just good ole moto joe )might be able to afford to get back into a great sport. You seize it during practice,a $100.00 and 1 hour of time and your riding again or might even make the second moto, finish good and cant wait till next week.NO VALVES,TIMING CHAINS,E.F.I,OHC LEFT HANDED FROGILATORS AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT 4 STROKES HAVE, NOT TO MENTION THE INCREDIBLE TIME AND COST INVOLVED!!!
OK, just got back from L.L Ranch, and sorry but I could swear the 4 STROKES ARE FAR LOUDER THAN TWO STROKES AND MOST OF THE TIME I COULD SEE OR SMELL OIL BURNING AS THEY LUMBERED BY.
OH YEA AND THE HONDA 4 STROKE 150 AGAINST A 2 STROKE 85, ITS A NO BRAINER!!!! YOU GUYS ARE REALLY ON AN EGO TRIP THERE SPENDING 5-7000.00 ON A BIKE THAT ISNT EVEN COMPETITIVE.SELL THEM AND LET YOUR KIDS RIDE A BIKE FOR THEM AND PUT THE XTRA MONEY BACK INTO THE SPORT.
SHAME ON YOU, THE A.M.A. FOR AND PROBABLY THE WORLDS WORST POLITICAL ADVISORS EVER TO ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.
I could go on for a long time on this one but I am just an old MXer who just came to watch the kids for a day and watch in shock to see where you have allowed this to go( not grow).
Yes, I will have to agree the Ranch is hosting a ton of riders but I can also guarantee you there are thousands more out there(who could be just as fast or faster?) that will never be able to afford it.SAD
