GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR
Winter Gatorade Free Flow Tour
About to kick off its inaugural winter season, the winter leg of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour will hold contests across the country throughout the month of January, looking to find the top amateur winter athletes in snowboarding (slopestyle and superpipe) and freeskiing (slopestyle and superpipe). Spread out across the East (3) and West Coasts (3), the Midwest (1) and the Rocky (2) and Wasatch Mountains (1), the winners at each stop of the 10-event schedule will be flown to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals for a chance to earn the year-end title.
Encompassing the “Flow to Pro” theme that is the cornerstone of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the two overall snowboard superpipe and slopestyle champions and the overall freeski superpipe and slopestyle champions earn a spot to compete against the pros at the first stop of the 2010-11 Winter Dew Tour the following season.
Gatorade Free Flow Tour
With five years already under its belt, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour is an am series that seeks to find the best up-and-coming skaters and BMX riders. In 2009, the Gatorade Free Flow Tour held 53 competitions across the country from May to September, finding the best amateur talent out there. The winners in each of the 53 competitions were flown to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, where one champion was crowned in each of the four disciplines (skate park and vert; BMX park and vert).
Encompassing the ‘Flow to Pro’ theme that is the cornerstone of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, the four overall champs – Jack Olson, Clay Kreiner, Matt Whyatt and Mykel Larrin – earned a spot at the Dew Tour’s PlayStation Pro in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 15-18 to compete against the pros.
