After a dominant win at the Freestone national, MIke Alessi had an unfortunate practice crash that resulted in a fractured kneecap. He quickly underwent surgery, and a mere 3 weeks later made his return to the Thunder Valley national. Andy Bowyer sat down with MIke before the motos took to the gate to assess Mike's return and hopes.

mike,mike,mike...earth to mike, there are a million people that would kill to have your talents and skills... when i heard you were riding so soon after surgery i couldnt believe you were so foolish to risk further injury and possibly not be ready for super-x in january..nevermind a few nationals.. heck i couldnt believe decoster let you ride...and you looked foolish on the track.. you are going to be a multi-time champion..anyone can see that, just let your wounds heal . OK
