Folk rock band Alberta Cross will headline the Winter Dew Tour’s Music Series presented by Verizon Wireless on Friday, February 5. The concert, also featuring opening act The Constellations, will be held at the Snow Barn at Mount Snow as a part of the third and final stop of the 2009-10 season, the Toyota Championship, taking place at Vermont’s Mount Snow Resort.
Formed by guitarist and lead singer Petter Ericson Stakee and bassist Terry Wolfers, rock band Alberta Cross draws its influence from both blues and folk. Stakee and Wolfers originally met four years ago while playing for a rock band on England’s East End. The two collaborated on an acoustic side project, recording what would soon become Alberta Cross’ self-produced debut EP, The Thief and the Heartbreaker, released in 2007. After moving to the United States amid the buzz created from The Thief and the Heartbreaker, Stakee and Wolfers captured the attention of ATO Records with their spellbinding acoustic shows. Signed by ATO, the founding duo wanted to create more of a “band vibe,” enlisting the help of guitarist Sam Kearney, drummer Austin Beede and Alec Higgins on keyboard to form the current makeup of Alberta Cross.
The band’s album, Broken Side of Time, was released in September of 2009, introducing a new Alberta Cross with a louder, grittier sound.
Alberta Cross, along with opener The Constellations – an Atlanta-based soul-rock band whose debut album Southern Gothic will be released this spring – will perform Friday night, February 5 at the Snow Barn at Mount Snow. Friday night’s concert will begin at 9pm with doors opening one hour prior to the start of the show.
The Snow Barn will also play host to the Dew Cup awards ceremony on Saturday, February 6, which will close out the second year of the Winter Dew Tour and will honor the top athletes in each of the Tour’s six disciplines (men and women’s snowboard slopestyle and superpipe, freeski slopestyle and freeski superpipe). Immediately following the Dew Cup awards ceremony, Sublime tribute band, 40oz. to Freedom will perform. The entire show will begin at 9pm.
Tickets to both the Friday night concert and the Saturday awards ceremony are $15 apiece and are on sale at allisports.com. Five dollars of each ticket will go towards the renovation of the Dover School Playground.

Dashboard Confessional will headline the Winter Dew Tour’s Music Series presented by Verizon Wireless on Friday, January 15. The concert, also featuring Codi Jordan who will open for Dashboard Confessional, will be held in the 200 block of Ogden’s Historic 25th Street as a part of the Winter Dew Tour’s second stop of the 2009-10 season, the Wendy’s Invitational, taking place at Snowbasin, a Sun Valley Resort.
Originally the solo project of Further Seems Forever lead singer Chris Carrabba, Carrabba recorded Dashboard Confessional’s first album Swiss Army Romance on the side, releasing it in 2000. However, it was the band’s sophomore album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most and its single “Screaming Infidelities,” that brought Dashboard Confessional to the forefront. The music video for “Screaming Infidelities” garnered the group multiple accolades, including the MTV2 award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2002. More successes followed with A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar, which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard charts, with the album’s “Vindicated” being featured in the end credits of Spider-Man 2.
The band’s sixth album, Alter the Ending, was released on November 10, with the first single, “Belle of the Boulevard.”
Dashboard Confessional, along with opener Codi Jordan – a rock-driven, local Utah group with elements of reggae, folk and hip hop – will perform Friday night, January 15 on Ogden’s Historic 25th Street in Ogden. Friday night’s concert will begin at 7pm. The entire show will be free to the public.

Pop rock group OneRepublic will headline its Music Series presented by Verizon Wireless on Friday and Saturday, December 18-19. Both concerts will be held in Breckenridge’s Riverwalk Center as a part of the Winter Dew Tour’s first stop of the 2009-10 season, the Totino’s Open, taking place at Breckenridge Ski Resort.
Originally a MySpace sensation as the number one unsigned act on the site, OneRepublic’s music caught the attention of Timbaland in 2006, and he signed the group to Mosley Music Group as the first rock band ever on the label. OneRepublic’s mainstream breakthrough came when Timbaland remixed the band’s “Apologize,” releasing it as a single on his 2007 Shock Value. The single featuring “Apologize” went three times platinum in the US, selling more than 5 million copies worldwide. OneRepublic’s own debut album Dreaming Out Loud also included the remixed version of “Apologize” along with their second hit, “Stop and Stare.” After the combination of successes, Rolling Stone included OneRepublic on its 2007 “Top Ten Artists to Watch” list.
The band’s second album, Waking Up, was released on November 17, with the first single, “All the Right Moves.”
Hailing from Colorado Springs, Colo., OneRepublic will perform Friday and Saturday night, December 18-19 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. Friday night’s concert will begin at 7pm, while Saturday’s will kick off at 7:30pm. Tickets for both shows are $22 and will be available via allisports.com. Five dollars of every ticket purchased will be donated to SOS Outreach, a Vail Valley-based nonprofit organization that builds character and self-esteem in youth though outdoor activities and the SOS curriculum.
